Thai Airways International (TG) is the national flag carrier of Thailand, famous for its graceful Thai hospitality and signature purple and gold colours. Founded in 1960 as a joint venture between Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) and Thailand's domestic carrier, Thai Airways began flying to major cities across Asia. In 1988, the company merged fully with domestic carrier Thai Airways Company to form a unified national flag carrier.
In 1997, Thai Airways became a founding member of the Star Alliance, connecting travellers to an extensive global network of partner airlines. Following a comprehensive business reorganization, Thai Airways emerged stronger, and in early 2024 it fully integrated its regional brand, Thai Smile Airways, back into main-line Thai Airways operations. Today, Thai Airways operates from its primary hub at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK), serving premier destinations across Asia, Europe, Australia, and the Middle East.
Whether you are planning a food trip to Bangkok, a beach holiday in Phuket, or an international business journey, Thai Airways takes you there in comfort.
