Japan Airlines (JL), also known as JAL, is Japan's national flag carrier, famous for its warm Japanese hospitality, known as omotenashi. Founded in 1951, JAL started with domestic flights in Japan and launched its first international flight in 1954, from Tokyo to San Francisco via Honolulu.
Over the years, JAL has grown into one of Asia's most respected airlines. It joined the oneworld alliance in 2007, linking travellers to a global network of partner airlines. After a major restructure in 2010, JAL came back stronger and was relisted on the Tokyo Stock Exchange in 2012. Today, JAL flies a modern fleet including the Airbus A350 and Boeing 787, with hubs at Tokyo Haneda and Tokyo Narita.
JAL offers four cabin classes: Economy, Premium Economy, Business, and First. Whether you are planning a cherry blossom holiday, a ski trip, or a business journey, JAL gets you there in comfort.
