Explore Malaysia and Beyond with Firefly

Firefly (FY) is the regional and low-cost subsidiary of Malaysia Airlines, connecting Malaysia's key cities to one another and to nearby destinations across Southeast Asia. Operating a twin-hub network from Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang and Penang International Airport, with a secondary hub in Kota Kinabalu, Firefly is a favourite for travellers who want fast, convenient point-to-point flights without routing through a major international terminal.

At Mayflower, we bring you the best Firefly flight deals. Our dedicated landing page helps you find cheap flight tickets, view real-time flight schedules, and manage your bookings with ease. Whether you're hopping over to George Town for the weekend, heading east to Kota Bharu or Kuala Terengganu for the islands, or connecting onward to Singapore, Phuket, or Jakarta, Firefly gets you there with the same Malaysian Hospitality that defines its parent airline.

ATR 72-500 Turboprop Fleet

The ATR 72-500 is a twin-engine turboprop seating around 70 to 72 passengers and serves as the workhorse of Firefly's original regional network. It operates short, high-frequency hops, such as Subang to Penang, Subang to Kota Bharu, and Subang to Singapore (Seletar), benefiting from its ability to land and take off efficiently on shorter runways and shorter sectors. This capability aligns with Firefly's origin as a community airline serving routes too small for larger jet aircraft. Notably, FlyBASIC fares on ATR 72 flights include complimentary checked baggage as standard, offering an added perk for short-haul regional travelers.
