Finally, Langkawi is opening its borders to all vaccinated tourists! It’s time to plan your long-awaited beach vacation and how excited are we! Here’s our travel guide for you to know about the new travel bubble announced by the Ministry of Tourism so your holiday plans will be smooth and safe sailing!
You are required to complete two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine and at least 14 days after the 2nd dose vaccination to be able to travel to Langkawi. Double-check your MySejahtera app for your vaccination certificate and your risk status has to be “Low Risk No Symptom” in order for you to travel.
The Ministry of Tourism noted [on 15th September] that it’s compulsory for travellers to take an RT-PCR or RTK-Antigen swab test prior to their trip. You’ll need to present the swab test result at the airport or ferry terminal. Here are your options!
If you are travelling by flight or travelling from Kedah or Perlis, you don’t need to apply for police permit to travel to Langkawi. However, if you plan to travel by land transport, you need to apply for a police permit at your residential police station and the transportation has to book through a tour agency.
You also need to keep a copy of all the receipts and booking detail for any of your flight bookings, hotel stays, travel packages, tour activity or transportation rental as proof of visiting Langkawi for travel and leisure purposes.
