(Day Tour approx. 4 hours)
Sharing Basis
Embark on a journey to Kuala Selangor, home to one of the largest firefly colonies in the world. Your adventure begins with a visit to Kota Melawati, a historic hilltop fortress formerly known as Fort Altingsburg, dating back to the late 18th century. From the summit, enjoy sweeping views of the Selangor coastline, and on a clear day, catch a glimpse of the Straits of Malacca.
Beyond its rich history, Melawati Hill is also a sanctuary for friendly silver-leaf monkeys and long-tailed macaques, who often welcome visitors with their playful charm.
As evening falls, continue to a peaceful mangrove village, where the highlight of the tour awaits. Board a boat and drift along the river in tranquil darkness to witness a truly magical sight — trees illuminated by thousands of sparkling fireflies. Their synchronized, rhythmic blinking transforms the mangroves into a living natural light show, reminiscent of a glittering Christmas tree.
Guided by skilled local boatmen, this enchanting experience offers a perfect blend of nature, history, and wonder — one that will stay with you long after the journey ends.
