With a local expert, see the best of Kuala Lumpur and zoom to the city’s time-honoured landmarks. Soak in the history of the preserved Masjid Jamek mosque, lies on the site where the city of Kuala Lumpur was founded. An architectural masterpiece of Moorish artisanship, the mosque opened its doors more than 100 years ago, making it one of the oldest mosques in Malaysia. Then, stroll along the river and get an in-depth look at the Independence Square where every year, in the morning of the Malaysia’s national day celebration, (31 August), thousands of spectators converge in front of this monument to watch the colourful parade along the street. 

Next, explore Bank Negara Museum & Art Gallery, showcasing numismatic treasures that are as old as history as well as its dynamic collection of Malaysian and ASEAN artwork. Conclude the tour with a visit to ‘tanjak’ shop – a traditional male headgear that is considered as a dignity for the grandeur of the Malay Rulers. Learn about the right philosophy of wearing tanjak, the difference between them and the important role tanjak plays in Malay design and craftsmanship.
