Ho Quoc Pagoda, opened in 2012 on a high mountain with a sea view, is a popular spot for tourists. The serene environment, pleasant climate, and frequent Buddhist ceremonies attract both visitors and monks. Locals and tourists often come to offer incense during holidays and find relaxation after busy work hours.
Dinh Cau Rock, also known as Cau Temple, is a unique natural formation on Phu Quoc Island. Local fishermen pray here before fishing trips. Situated near Duong Dong Fishing Harbour, it includes a vibrant lighthouse and Buddhist shrine, making it a popular photography spot. Built in 1937 to honor Thien Hau, the sea goddess, it's believed to protect fishermen. Accessible via 29 stone steps, the rooftop terrace offers stunning sunset views of Dinh Cau Beach, traditional boats, Duong Dong Town, and nearby islets.
Phu Quoc fish sauce, renowned for over 200 years, is made from protein-rich fresh anchovies. With over 100 production factories, a visit offers insight into the scale and process of creating delectable fish sauce. Giant crates cater to tourists' demands. The sauce's popularity is attributed to the high protein content (36-40), sweet taste, and delightful aroma of Coc Sieu anchovies, a unique specialty found only in Phu Quoc.
Sim Winery's Tomentose Rose Myrtle alcohol stands out as a Phu Quoc specialty, celebrated for its enticing aroma and delightful taste. Crafted from tomentose rose myrtle fruits, it undergoes a manual fermentation process, resulting in a beautifully clear yellow-turned-violet hue and the distinctive fragrance of tomentose rose myrtle. The flavor is a delicate blend of sweetness and a hint of acridness. Beyond its pleasing taste, the alcohol is known for aiding digestion and providing relief for some aches and pains in older individuals. While tomentose rose myrtle blossoms and bears fruit throughout the year, producers recommend the spring crop for its high-quality fruits, rich in honey, ideal for crafting exceptional alcohol.
