5D4N Highlands & Rainforests Discovery

Lying off the beaten track, the untouched Taman Negara is one of the world’s oldest rainforests and is home to towering trees, cascading waterfalls and a host of wildlife. Peaceful Cameron Highlands, meanwhile, rises 1500 metres above sea level and is itself a delightful range of mist-shrouded mountains and lush valleys dotted with tea plantations, rose gardens, vegetable and strawberry farms. 

ITINERARY

Day 1: Kuala Lumpur - Cameron Highlands
Pick-up from your hotel in Kuala Lumpur and travel north to the fascinating hill stations of the Cameron Highlands, described by British Surveyor William Cameron as a ‘fine plateau with gentle slopes shut in by lofty mountains’. Arriving at the foothill of the highlands, begin your ascend through the mountain road, lined with giant tree-ferns and indigenous homes. Upon arrival in Cameron Highlands, you’re in for a treat: enjoy a traditional afternoon tea and scones in the charming secret garden of the Smokehouse Hotel before settling in at Strawberry Park Resort (or similar), your home for two nights.

Day 2: Cameron Highlands
See the highlights of Cameron on a panoramic sightseeing tour. Come to understand more about the highlands where the landscape and climate have proven an ideal setting for the cultivation of the strawberries, flowers and vegetables Visit a tea plantation and gain an insight into the process the leaves go through between the plant and your cup. Later, be enchanted by an array of colour and pleasant aromas at Rose Valley, home to rosebushes of over 100 different varieties. This afternoon is free for you to explore the highlands at your leisure, perhaps visit the small town of Tanah Rata, dotted with restaurants and shops.

Day 3: Cameron Highlands - Taman Negara
Depart this morning from Cameron Highlands to Kuala Tahan jetty from where you will cross by boat into the National Park. Reaching the park, settle-in to Mutiara Taman Negara Resort, your home for the next two nights. With time to freshen up and unpack, we take you this evening to explore the surrounding forest on a night-time jungle walk.

Day 4: Taman Negara
Take in the area’s outstanding natural beauty on today’s tour, trekking through lush rainforest with a chance to walk across the canopy walkway and enjoy breathtaking views of the forest from dizzying heights. In the afternoon, board a river boat to the cascading waterfall of Lata Berkoh where you will have the chance to swim in the clear waters of the fall.

Day 5: Taman Negara - Kuala Lumpur
Bid farewell to your jungle adventure and return by boat to Kuala Tahan jetty where your driver will take you back to Kuala Lumpur.
