4D3N Mount Kinabalu Trekking
Take on the adventure of a lifetime trekking up Mount Kinabalu, rising majestically to a height of 4,095 meters above sea level. First conquered by British colonial administrator Sir Hugh Low in 1851, this spectacular mountain has developed into a world-class adventure climbing mountain and attracts both professional and amateur climbers.
ITINERARY
Day 1: Kota Kinabalu - Kinabalu National Park
Today, you arrive in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah’s capital city. Feel the excitement start to build as you head to Kinabalu National Park, crossing the mountainous Crocker range with sweeping views of the countryside. Along the way, see the iconic Tamparuli suspension bridge - a picturesque structure stretching over the Kiulu River which is immortalised in Kadazan-dusun’s folk song. Pause at the village of Nabalu where you can savour some locally grown fruits, or maybe bargain for craftwork at the numerous roadside stalls. Continue on to Desa Dairy Farm and take in the rolling grass pastureland and the cattle farms that dot the landscape. Later arrive at Kinabalu National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Reflect on your surroundings as you overnight at the park.

Day 2: Kinabalu Park - Laban Rata
Following breakfast, you will be transferred to the starting point - Timpohon gate, where your quest to the summit begins. The trail winds its way through different climate zones, varied terrains and ever-changing forests. Pause for a short break and enjoy a packed lunch along the way before reaching Laban Rata base camp in the late afternoon. Relax and become acclimated to the altitude as you stay overnight at the base camp (non-heated dormitory rooms).

Day 3: Laban Rata - Low’s Peak - Kota Kinabalu
After a short night’s rest, set off for a challenging summit trek in the dark hours before the morning mist rolls in. Climb to the Low's Peak and catch a spectacular view of the sunrise, visible on the far horizon (weather permitting). Afterwards, descend back to Laban Rata base camp for late breakfast and check-out. Later, trek down to Timpohon gate and transfer back to the Park Headquarter for lunch, before returning to Kota Kinabalu. Relax as you enjoy the final night in the heart of the city.

Your epic adventure comes to a close today. Transfer to the airport for your flight home.

PLEASE NOTE
Although the trekking here does not require special mountaineering skills, a certain level of fitness is essential. Comfortable, warm clothing and good sturdy walking shoes are a must. Camera permit (approx. RM5) and video permit (approx. RM30) are payable locally. All successful climbers will receive a certificate upon reaching back to the Park Headquarter.
