Activity
Upon arrival, we drive to Bursa. We will visit the Green Mosque, also known as the Grand Mosque, which was built by Sultan Bayezit I from 1396 to 1400. It is one of the most attractive examples of Ottoman architecture. Then visit Koza Han. After lunch, visit the Green Mosque and Green Mausoleum. The mausoleum is adorned with attractive turquoise green tiles, like the nearby Green Mosque. Then transfer to the hotel. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

BURSA - PERGAMON - KUSADASI

Activity
After breakfast, drive to Selcuk, where we will explore Ephesus—probably one of the largest and most outstanding archaeological sites in existence. Some outstanding structures include: the Library of Celsius, The Grand Theater, Hadrian Temple, Marble Street, Agora, etc. Then we will visit the House of the Virgin Mary. According to the legend, the Virgin Mary and St. John came to Ephesus and died here. After lunch, visit the Leather Outlet Center for a live fashion show. Then free time for shopping. My last visit will be the Temple of Artemis. Then continue to Pamukkale, another major attraction in Turkey. After dinner, we may wish to relax ourselves with an authentic thermal bath. Then proceed to the hotel.

PAMUKKALE - KONYA - CAPPADOCIA

Today's visit includes the ruins of Hierapolis—an ancient Roman city well known for its thermal baths and health center. Then visit Cotton Castle, or "Pamukkale". Cotton Castle is a magical and unique series of terraces and castles created by deposits of white limestone from thermal springs. This spectacular natural wonder is also on the World Heritage List of UNESCO. After lunch, drive to Konya. We will visit the Mevlana Museum in Konya. Then we will have lunch at a local restaurant. Then visit Sultanhani Caravanserai, a "hotel" for ancient traders and travelers. Then drive to Cappadocia. Dinner and overnight in Cappadocia.

CAPPADOCIA

Cappadocia is open all day. We will visit Fairy Chimneys. Then, visit the underground city of Kaymakli. Photostops will be given at the Valley of the Birds and at the foot of Uchisar Castle. Then we will visit the Goreme Open Air Museum. This old village consists of small dwellings carved into huge rocks. The contemporary village is on the skirts of the rock. If time permits, you may visit one of these homes. Then visit Avanos. It is a town famous for its pottery and carpets. You may visit one of the factories and learn the art of pottery making and carpet weaving. Dinner and overnight in Cappadocia.

CAPPADOCIA - BOLU

Activity
After breakfast, depart for Ankara, the capital of Turkey. On the way, make a stop near Salt Lake. Visit the Ataturk Mausoleum—the final resting place of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk—the "father of modern Turkey". The architecture of the mausoleum is a mix of different styles that represent the various Anatolian civilizations. Then drive to Bolu. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel. Dinner and overnight in Bolu.

Today, we will return to Istanbul. After lunch, visit the Hippodrome, Blue Mosque, and Topkapi Palace—the seat of the Ottoman Empire after it shifted its capital from Bursa to Istanbul. This palace is a museum today, with a wide collection of kitchen wares and porcelain, treasuries, royal antiques, and courtyards. Then visit the St. Sophia Museum, which is one of the greatest religious and architectural marvels of all time. Then, it's shopping time at the 500-year old Grand Bazaar—a maze of more than 4000 stalls and shops selling local products such as leather apparel, jewelry, souvenirs, handicrafts, pottery, ceramic wares, Turkish coffee and apple tea, etc. It is a popular place for most visitors.
