Ojukheon House was where Yi I (penname Yulgok; scholar and politician of the Joseon Period) was born. It was built during the early Joseon dynasty and was designated as Treasure No. 165 in 1963 for its historical value. Inside the house is Mongryongsil, where Yi I was born. The household complex also features the household shrine, Munseongsa, the sarangchae (men's quarters), Eojaegak Pavilion, Yulgok Memorial Hall, and Gangneung Municipal Museum.

Gangneung in Gangwon-do is the first local district in Korea to host a coffee festival and support coffee artisans as well as promote the development of coffee-related facilities and contents such as a coffee museum, coffee street, coffee factory, barista academy, and more. With almost all coffee shops in the area roasting their own coffee beans, Gangneung is well-recognized as the "city of coffee."

ARTE Museum

ARTE Museum Gangneung is the third immersive media art exhibition presented by the district, a digital media design company. There are twelve media art exhibitions centred on the theme “Valley” that reflect the regional characteristics of Gangwon-do and Gangneung, the centre of the Baekdu Mountain Range. The works produced under the theme of “Eternal Nature” have vibrant visuals, sensual sounds, and elegant fragrances adding to the entire experience.
