Mulu Cave + Headhunter Trails
Gunung Mulu National Park is well-known for its limestone karst formations, which include some of the world's most magnificent caves. Mulu is home to the world's largest underground chamber, the world's largest cave tunnel (Deer Cave), and Southeast Asia's longest cave (the Sarawak Chamber) (Clearwater Cave).
The park is dominated by three mountains – Mulu, Api, and Benarat – and contains 52,000 hectares of primary rainforest. It was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2000.
Mulu's experience isn't just limited to its caverns. Mulu contains 15 different types of forest, including mixed dipterocarp, heath, peat swamp, moss forest, and montane vegetation, as well as thousands of species of ferns, fungi, mosses, and flowering plants, making it as diverse as its cave system. Mammals, reptiles, birds, amphibians, fish, insects, and other invertebrates can all be found in the park.
